Volumes 5-8 are edited, with an introduction, by Felipe Fernandez-Armesto. Each volume is illustrated with 20-30 illustrations and maps. Each volume has an introduction and index. The 8 volumes are: 1. The Turn of the Tide. 2. Constantine and the Christian Empire. 3. The Revival and Collapse of Paganism. 4. The End of the Western Empire. 5. Justinian and the Roman Law. 6.
